A Thought for the Week...

My friend recently sent me this quote:

"The only measure of what you believe is what you do. If you want to know what people believe, don't read what they write, don't' ask them what they believe, just observe what they do." Ashley Montagn

Our MUSTS and WONT'S are what we do...

  1. This quote really resonated with me this week. I have been telling my husband my plan for spending during the holidays but no concrete action. It is my behavior in carrying out the plan that is going to be the gift. So my beliefs are not believable until he sees the results of what I actually do. I have started my musts and wont's but not finished. I will not buy or eat store bought sugar. That means I will not eat anything that isn't special that I can eat anytime. ie:candy bar, see candies, bakery cookies or cakes etc. This gives me permission to eat Aunt Helen's famous swiss cake that she only makes once a year. I will have one small piece. Yesterday at the grocery store I saw my favorite seasonal candy and walked away from it. Why? because I had written
my plan of musts and won'ts. At least this one. This quote also opened the door to a great discussion with my husband. Thanks

  2. Thank you ladies for your encouraging comments! I really think it's the little issues that create havoc in my life. They creep in and cause me "to do the very thing I do not want to do!" Praise God for the strength He gives me for TODAY!

  3. Becky, I just read your change your life daily email. I am so grateful and happy for you to use your valuable time to reach students. I wrote my cousin in Indianapolis and told her about you coming and her daughter , Leslie is a student at Anderson, She went to see you twice yesterday. I will be visiting them this weekend so will be anxious to hear the report of how this effects the students at the college. You can always sleep when you get home :-) May God pour his richest blessings through you to these students. !
