This week's call details the story of my detention center visit--in the hope it inspires you to think out of the box and ask God to give you a specific "service" plan for giving of your time (and money) during the two upcoming holidays. (The story can be found on the October 18 column of the Little Changes Big Results blogor on page 83-84 of Let God Talk to You.

I don't think I will be able to make the call in tomorrow but wanted to post something this evening. I am catching a flight early in the morning so I can get a visit in with my elderly mother. She was on the original plan, got a great airfaire and it was on calendar so off I go. It will make a difference in her life and if I had not planned it I wouln't have happened. (Thanks Becky) I made plans with a date to work at a womens shelter, we will be helping their children make presents for their Moms and telling a Christmas story to the children. My plan is to give a bible to the women along with a lavender sachet (I harvested lavender from my garden). I have a craft planned to make the gift box. We will be making popcorn balls and I will talk about God making them Psalm 139. I have recruited a few other ladies and then we will be coming back to my house for soup and salad. The shopping and cooking is on calendar and fits into the budget. This morning in the bible reading my heart melted with Psalm 116:1-2" I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath." Be encouraged.
